Primrose dissemination in Celje, Slovenia

On 20th June, following the 5th and final meeting of partners in Murska Sobota, I was invited to give a dissemination at the SSGT catering school in Celje where we have had close and productive relations for many years. Several groups of their teachers, including the head teacher have attended the Primrose Euro-skills courses in Cambridge.  The school has been using my Tick-Tack languages software programs for many years, following my original teachers seminar there.

Because the dissemination was arranged at short notice and many teachers were supervising exams, it was decided that I should give a series of presentations to 54 students from their top classes, plus any teachers who could be spared. They included the deputy head, the teacher responsible for organizing their projects and her assistant who took a large number of photos of the dissemination.

The presentations included exploring the e-Learning Platform, accessing the digital maps, handling the 4 smartphone apps and exploiting the Front Desk program.

The morning began with a detailed introduction by The head-master, Iztok Leskovar, who was full of admiration for what he had seen and learned about our project a few days earlier at the project conference. He also greatly appreciated the Euro-Skills courses in Cambridge that he had attended, and he hoped to send further groups in the future. He said that the teachers had already decided to make very full use of our eLearning Platform as well as the other materials that we had created in the project.

At the end of the presentations the teachers were delighted to be asked by the students if they could have a further informal question-and- answer session with me so that they could learn more about ways of improving their language skills and about what else we have been doing on the project. Lots of them asked questions and their eyes shone with enthusiasm as I told them about our project meetings and about Cambridge and my courses.

The teachers were keen to invite me to come again whenever I am in their beautiful country. This I promised to do.

The photos taken at the dissemination have been uploaded to the Primrose section in dropbox.
