We are a long-established company designing and manufacturing high-quality engineering products, which we have been selling all over the world for many years. There should be a good market for our products in your country, and we are looking for an agent to represent us and help generate business.
We wonder whether you would be interested - and if so, whether you think you would be suitable and could do a good job for us.
We enclose a leaflet briefly describing the main items in our range, together with a list of FOB prices and a short account of our Company.
The most suitable arrangement would be a Sales and Service Agency, but we are ready to discuss any other reasonable arrangement. Our overseas agents receive a sales commission of 10 percent of the FOB price, on all shipments into their territory. A further 5 percent is allowed to those agents carrying spares and taking responsibility for local servicing.
We would expect to make periodic visits to assist you, to train your staff, and to help you to clinch orders. You would be expected to carry out some local research into the market for our products in your country, and to provide us with lists of potential customers.
We would furnish you with reasonable quantities of sales and technical literature, without charge, and we should do our best to provide efficient sales and technical support.
We enclose two copies of our standard Agency Agreement together with an Agency Questionnaire. If you are interested, and feel you could act effectively for us, would you please complete the questionnaire as far as you can and return it to us quickly. Should you be willing to go ahead at once, please return one copy of the agreement duly signed.
If you prefer to operate in some other way, for example as distributors, buying from us and reselling to local customers, please let us have your detailed proposals.
